Meet the Owners

Ian is driven by thoughtful design, responsible building practices, and the belief that great work comes from a positive, collaborative environment—and a genuine enjoyment of the process.
Growing up in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, Ian developed an early passion for drawing, design, and creating things with his hands. He went on to attend the University of Washington pursuing a dual degree in Architecture and Construction Management.
After graduating in 2009, Ian joined Turner Construction Company, where he spent six years managing commercial construction projects. That experience gave him a strong foundation in project management, construction processes, and the coordination required to bring complex projects to life. In 2015, he founded Celestine Construction, a design-build company, where he continued to unite design and construction through a hands-on, integrated approach.
During that time, Ian met Tim Apuzzo, and the two began collaborating on projects. Recognizing how well their skills and perspectives complemented one another, they joined forces to establish HUB Construction Group in 2017.
Today, Ian brings a combination of architectural understanding, commercial construction experience, and design-build expertise to HUB’s residential projects. He values thoughtful problem-solving, responsible building, and a positive working environment where clients, designers, and tradespeople can work together toward a shared vision.
Ian continues to call Ballard home, where he lives with his wife, their two young boys, and two dogs.

Driven by a passion for thoughtful design, hands-on craftsmanship, and meaningful relationships, Tim believes the best work comes from continually embracing new challenges and building a strong, collaborative team.
Tim grew up on the East Coast, just outside Portland, Maine, where an early interest in art, design, and working with his hands shaped his path toward architecture and construction. He went on to study Architectural Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, graduating in 2006.
Eager to put his education into practice and take on a new adventure, Tim moved to Seattle and founded Apuzzo Construction LLC in 2011, combining his architectural background with practical building experience. A few years later, he met Ian Hamm, whose complementary experience and approach to construction quickly established a strong working partnership. That shared vision ultimately led to the founding of HUB Construction Group in 2017.
Today, Tim brings an integrated perspective to residential construction, drawing on his understanding of design, his hands-on building experience, and his commitment to collaboration. He believes successful projects are built on thoughtful planning, quality craftsmanship, and strong relationships with clients and the professionals who bring each home to life.
Tim now lives in Seattle's Green Lake neighborhood with his wife and their two boys.
Our Story
In 2013, Seattle native Ian Hamm and East Coast transplant Tim Apuzzo crossed paths while independently running their own design-build companies. With complementary backgrounds in architecture, construction management, and hands-on building, they quickly found a natural fit in both their approach to projects and their commitment to quality. That collaboration grew into HUB Construction Group in 2017.
Since then, Ian and Tim have built a team of talented carpenters and trusted tradespeople who share their passion for craftsmanship, thoughtful problem-solving, and doing things the right way. Together, they bring an integrated perspective to every project, balancing design intent, practical experience, and attention to detail from the earliest stages through the final finish.
Today, HUB creates distinctive residential spaces and select commercial projects throughout the greater Seattle area. Whether reimagining an existing home or building something new, our focus remains the same: to deliver exceptional work through a collaborative process, lasting relationships, and a genuine commitment to building well.
